VietNamNet Bridge – A pilot training course on road traffic rules for the hearing impaired was opened in Hanoi on July 8 with 88 trainees. It is part of a project funded by the World Bank and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to educate deaf people on road traffic laws, understanding their rights and speaking out their needs for safe means of transport as well as to encourage them to travel with registered vehicles.

Karina has authored articles on themes of disability, minority participation, mass media, human rights education, culture and social inclusion. She is the only trainer with a disability in the international Trainers' Pool of the Council of Europe Youth Sector.
Scott Rains, D. Min. writes daily on travel and issues of interest to people with disabilities occurring in the tourism industry.
His research on the topic of Universal Design and the travel and hospitality industry has included appointment as Resident Scholar at the Center for Cultural Studies of the University of California Santa Cruz (2004-05). He consultants globally on accessible travel & hospitality.
Zara Husain graduated with an MSc in Technology in Special Education from the prestigious Johns Hopkins University, USA in May 2008. Prior to that, she was a gold medalist in her graduating class of 2003 with MA in Special Education from University of the Punjab, Lahore. She has the distinction of being the first ever hearing impared student in Pakistan to be bestowed with this honour. She completed her BA from Kinnaird College Lahore.
